Spring Break
Originally, Sarah and I were headed to San Fran.....
and when that fell through, we looked into Vegas.....
and when I decided I didn't really wanna go there, we thought of southern Utah.....
and after I got done with the most recent round of tests, I realized I'd be happy with HOME!
So that is precisely where I went. =0)
Friday, I drove with Lydia and her sister to Salt Lake for a wives-of-military-men sort of dinner at Market Street and Brady met us there. I love waving to people from inside a restaurant trying to get their attention as the other people in the restaurant think you're crazy......
YUMMY FISH! Love Market Street. Hate paying for it, though.....

After that, Brade and I decided to go on a mini adventure and climb up Ensign Peak at like 10 p.m. We kind of cheated, though, and went to the lookout below Ensign Peak that's easier and shorter to get to. I felt bad cuz we got up there and there was a little family (mom, dad, and baby) already up there who left shortly after we arrived. Didn't mean to move into their spot! But you see, Brady and I hadn't seen each other for quite a while and so we had to play out our "epic reunion" since we didn't exactly to that at Market Street. (not enough room, you see..... hahaha) So on top of this mountain, we stood at opposite ends of the trail, counted down, and then ran toward each other..... Neither of us were quite sure about what the other one was going to do..... which made it a lot funnier. What ended up happening, was he bent down a little (in order to pick me up) and I spontaneously jumped (it's the ballet, I tell ya)..... and then my hair went, well, kinda everywhere, and neither of us could see.... and basically we ended up accidentally stumbling off the trail and almost dying.
Hahahahahaha.
Then we decided to see how good we were at balancing on cement blocks.... we were actually pretty good. But the blocks were a little small.... so that didn't last long, hahahaha.

After that, I realized how tired I was and konked out on Brady's shoulder as he took the looong way from downtown Salt Lake to Sandy.
On Saturday.... it snowed.
And snowed.
And snowed.
On Sunday, it melted.
And I went to church.
And it was reeeeeally good.
And then I drove to Provo. (y'all can tell me how sorry you feel for me later...)
My dad was weirdly adamant about me taking the Impala instead of the Grand Prix or the Camry (ya think I had a record or somethin'...) and went out of his way to make sure I took it. --meaning he went and cleared off the snow and put gas in it from his own "stock" cuz the tank was pretty much empty. So he was ticked because we were late to church. And then he became more ticked that Mom was telling him he shouldn't be ticked about such a stupid thing. And then he was more ticked because the home teachers were coming. And then he slips while clearing off the snow, which intensifies things even more.... and then after he finishes putting gas in the car, I feel terrible and try to hug him, but he pushes me away and says, "Don't bug me..." Ah! Sad day!

So dah dee dah I drive to Provo, find Brady's apt. magnificently on my own and knock on the door as he still thinks he's guiding me there. Ha! Girls DO have a sense of direction.....
We made waffles.... as usual =0) (while hearing Big Bang Theory in the background)
And we went for a walk..... (he teasing me worse than an older brother...) and we ducked under the overpass because we were walking on the cement wall.
And he and I and his roommate dozed in the living room (and were awakened every five minutes by either the executive secretary, Nick's snoring, or uncomfortability)
And we went to ward prayer (which was in his apt. complex's lobby... that was new....)
And then we made dinner with chicken, alfredo, and whole wheat noodles--kind of a fan.
And then I got sick.
And then he walked me to my car and something awkward happened in the parking lot that involved another car (Brady, you can chuckle to yourself about this because heck knows I'm not going into detail here....)
And then I went home.
Haha.
Monday, I did some sweet P90X and took care of my grandma and watched "The Children's Hour" with Audrey Hepburn....... and by 8 p.m. had the worst back pain of my life.
Wednesday, Brade came to see me again. We had planned on having "an amazing adventure", but alas. Duty calls. Or rather, duty to injury calls. It kind of sucked. I couldn't even walk normally and every time I got in and out of a car, anyone watching would've thought me pregnant. 8-9 months pregnant.... but not a big enough bulge....
So instead of going to a random party in Orem with his friend Richard, we went to Fashion Place to "take care of some business" and to Panda. To feed him. :) Because my friend had already brought me Cafe Rio beforehand, bless his heart. He put on my socks for me too.... (because that's HARD with a bad back!)
Friday, I decided to get a few things done. I did my physics homework, went to the temple, got ready, played the piano (I actually played the piano a TON that week, which was soooo nice) and convinced Brady to let me take him to the view of Salt Lake on the opposite side of the valley (aka South Mountain). We drove and drove til we were finally there... but then the clouds came! And we pretty much couldn't even see anything. And I couldn't find a good place to look out over the valley. So it was kind of sad.
We ended up just going back to my house.... and it ended up being probably the best night yet.
We talked to my parents and popped good popcorn and watched an old Elvis movie. Set in Civil War times...... yeah.... hahahahaha. Between the comments made by him and my mom, it was a pretty funny night. And of course, Dad headed to bed too early to hear them. Shame.

On Saturday, it finally warmed up and we all basked in the sun for some minutes. Including the puppy. But she was naughty. As usual. And I got ready to go back to school by doing some grocery shopping and packing. And then when it came time for Mumsy to head to Grammy's, I decided I'd better utilize my time with her and go with. :)
Sunday was good. Church pews are essentially agonizing and my back was screaming, but church itself was really good. Good talks and gooooood lessons. And we had a family fast for my uncle Doug who has been struggling with the after-effects of cancer-caused surgery.
My mom and I headed up to Logan after dinner and then she went back to Sandy that night (sadly).
All in all, however, Spring Break was successful. The physical limitations kind of stunk, but after my tests, I just wanted a rest. Which I got. And I got to be with my parents and visit friends. :)

Something Relearned
The hardest decisions are definitely between two good things.
Last night I was reading a few chapters in 3 Nephi and I found a verse that hit me like a ton of bricks: 3 Nep. 21:29
"...and they shall not go out in haste,
nor go by flight, for I will go before them,
saith the Father, and I will be their rearward."
It reminded me of something I, personally, forget all too often. I worry and stress and analyze and over-think things and many times don't give enough attention to the Master. I'm so busy "going in haste" or "by flight", mentally, that I forget the promise that He'll "go before" me and "be [my] rearward."
He knocks.
But too often I'm busy inside. And if I even hear the knock, I start wondering if it's really Him, if it was really someone else, or if it was all just my imagination. I need to learn to listen. I can always make more time for Him. And I'll be comforted more easily when I need it, I'll be guided more, if I make sure to act on those promptings, and there'll be no need to worry or fear.
I worry a lot about ending up where I'm supposed to be, and being satisfied with that place. If I apply the Higher Law of faith, however, I believe I will end up exactly where I ought and I'll be happy in that place.
If God leads you to it, He'll see you through it.
