This week was a blur. But an awesome blur.
We had our disappointments as always, but also many miracles.
Disappointments:
-We had a couple days where we just hit brick walls with people where it was difficult to see if we had done any good, despite our efforts.
-R, who had a baptismal date was gone to El Dorado for 3 weeks (and in other places the 2 weeks before that) and we just found out she and Ra are moving out of the ward. :(
-3 of our 5 new investigators didn't keep their return appts. It's always frustrating and saddening when the first lesson goes really well, you know they felt something special--the Spirit--and then the people around them dissuade them from learning more or unbelief clouds their vision.
Miracles:
-During weekly planning last week the Spirit told us to invite 12 people for baptism... and then it was neat to see Him provide opportunities for us to accomplish the goal He helped us set. We ended up inviting 14.
-On Saturday we focused on visiting the member of the ward we didn't know as well and building the relationship of trust. Then later that day we went to try to contact a former investigator, contacted a man, got his and his son's info, knocked on the door of the former, no answer, and as we were leaving the parking lot I noticed a lady waiting in her car. The conversation in my head: "We should've talked to her..." "Naw she probably would've shut us down." "What a faithless thing to think! You shouldn't make that decision for her. Maybe she's going through something really hard and needs you...." Turned car around, turned back into parking lot, went to talk to her and as we shared with her what we knew to be true and got to know her better, sure enough, she was going through something hard. She was in the process of a difficult divorce and she was receptive. We got her info and will try to get out to where she lives asap.
Then later that night when it was 8:40 we went to contact an "A" that caught my eye. It didn't give her apt. # so we just started knocking and ended up finding K who we got to know, testified to and she let us in and we were able to teach her the Restoration and set a return appt. for the next day. :) Her fiancee lives in Austin.... !! And she's moving there in May.
-At church, we had an investigator come we didn't think would come, a nonmember (husband of a member whom we had visited 2 days before) that we NEVER thought would come, and THREE of the less actives we've been working with! We were very blessed to be able to see a little of the fruits of our efforts yesterday as well as the Lord's hand in their lives.
-Oh, and did I mention how the miracle of the Gathering of Israel is happening as we speak? (or type...)
